‘The Origin of Bida’

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn al-Qayyim as-Salafi -Rahimahullaah- said :
“سوء الفهم عن الله ورسوله أصلُ كلِ بدعةٍ وضلالة نشأت في الإسلام، بل هو أصلُ كلِ خطأ في الأصول والفروع، ولاسيما إن أُضيف إليه سوءُ القصد!”.
‘The wrong understanding about Allaah and His Messenger is the origin of all Bida’ and misguidance which was brought into Islaam.
Indeed it is the origin of every mistake which a person commits in the principles and branches of knowledge, especially if an evil intent is added to it.’

أصلُ كلِ بدعةٍ
قال ابن القيم رحمه الله تعالى في كتاب (الروح):
“سوء الفهم عن الله ورسوله أصلُ كلِ بدعةٍ وضلالة نشأت في الإسلام،
بل هو أصلُ كلِ خطأ في الأصول والفروع،
ولاسيما إن أُضيف إليه سوءُ القصد!”.
