STATEMENTS ABOUT THE KHAWARIJ – NO.2

The Khawarij

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

From Abu Umamah who said:

شَرُّ قَتْلَى قُتِلُوا تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ وَخَيْرُ قَتْلَى مَنْ قَتَلُوا كِلاَبُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ قَدْ كَانَ هَؤُلاَءِ مُسْلِمِينَ فَصَارُوا كُفَّارًا

”The Khawarij are most evil of murderers who are killed under the sky. The best of those killed are those killed by the dogs of the Hell-fire, these people (some of the Khawarij) were Muslims and they became Kuffar (disbelievers).’

I asked ‘O Abu Umamah, are you saying this of your own opinion or is it something that you heard from the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-?’ He answered ‘Rather it is what I heard from the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.
