Large Number of Ahl ul Bida

Abu Uthman as-Sabooni (d. 449 AH) Rahimahullaah said:
‘My brothers do not be deceived by the large number of the Ahlul Bida and their abundant numbers, since indeed that is from the signs of the final hour, and moreover as the chosen Messenger ﷺ said:
‘Indeed from the signs of the final hour and its event is that knowledge will be lessened and ignorance will increase.’
Knowledge is the Sunnah and ignorance is Bida’.

قال أبو عثمان الصابوني رحمه الله:
و لا يَغُرَّنَّ إخواني كثرةُ أهل البدع و وُفُور عددهم فإنَّ ذلك من أمارات الساعة، إذ الرسول المصطفى ﷺ قال: إنَّ من علامات الساعة و اقترابها أن يَقِلَّ العلم و يكثُرَ الجهل، و العلمُ هو السُّنَّة، و الجهل هو البدعة.
