About the Knowledge of Ayesha the Mother of the Believers RadhiAllaahu anha

No. 1
From Abu Musa al-Ashari who said:
ما أشكل علينا – أصحابَ رسولِ اللهِ – ﷺ – حديثٌ – قطُّ -، فسألنا عائشةَ؛ إلا وجدنا عندها منه علمًا.
‘There was never a Hadeeth that was difficult to understand for us, the companions of the Messenger of Allaah SallAllaahu alayhi wa Salam except that when we asked Ayesha she would have knowledge about it.’

Abu Musa Al-Ashari said:
“كانت عائشة أعلم الناس، وكان الأكابر من أصحاب رسول اللهﷺ يسألونها”.
Ayesha was the most knowledgeable of the people, and the senior Companions of the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam used to ask her questions.’

Masruq a follower of the Companions (d. 62 AH) was asked
كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تُحْسِنُ الْفَرَائِضَ؟
‘ Was Ayesha good at inheritance laws?’
He replied:
“إِي وَاللَّهِ، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ مَشْيَخَةَ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ يَسْأَلُونَهَا عَنِ الْفَرَائِضِ”.
‘Yes, and I swear by Allaah that I saw the senior elders of the Companions of Muhammad sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam ask her about inheritance laws.’

Urwah ibn al-Zubayr a follower of the Companions (d. 94 AH) said:
“مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَعْلَمَ بِالْقُرْآنِ، وَلَا بِفَرِيضَةٍ، وَلَا بِحَلَالٍ وَلَا حَرَامٍ، وَلَا بِشِعْرٍ،
وَلَا بِحَدِيثِ الْعَرَبِ، وَلَا نَسَبٍ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا”.
‘I never saw anyone more knowledgeable about the Qur’aan, or inheritance laws, or about the Halal and Haraam, or poetry, or speech of the Arabs, or about lineages than Ayesha RadhiAllaahu anha.’
