A Time When Following the Prophet will be Despised

Sahl bin Abdullaah -Rahimahullaah- said:
‘It is upon you to adhere to the Athar [narrations] and the Sunnah, since indeed I fear a time will come shortly, that when a person will mention the Prophet -sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam- and to follow him in all his circumstances, then the people will dispraise him, run away from him, be free of him, humiliate him and belittle him.’

قال سهل بن عبدالله رحمه الله :
“عليكم بالأثر والسنة فإني أخاف أنه سيأتي عن قليل زمان إذا ذكر إنسان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والاقتداء به في جميع أحواله ذموه ونفروا عنه وتبرؤوا منه وأذلوه وأهانوه”.
