The Superior Salafi Manhaj

By Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaami

‘What makes the Salafi methodology excel and superior is that those who follow this way do not differ except in their manner, style and expression, this was due to their different time periods and circumstances, and this all goes back to the unifying source of their Dawa.

Which is the Book of Allaah, the Sunnah of His Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- and the Athaar of the Companions which clarify the meanings of the texts.

This is because they were present during the descent of the revelation and they understood the texts as they were revealed, before a long time had passed by.

This is why those who came after them should have a concern of following the Salaf who came before them.’ [Sifaat al-Ilaheeya p.112]

Reasons for an Increase & Decrease of Prices

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah – rahimullaah – said:

‘Products become expensive due to an increase in prices and are cheap due to a decrease of price. These two aspects are from the general  occurrences which have no creator except Allaah Alone.

None of those things can occur except by Allaah’s permission and His capability. However, Allaah -Subhanahu- may place some of the actions of the slaves of Allaah as reasons and means for some occurrences. Just as like a murderer killing someone is the reasons for a death to occur.

Allaah causing an increase in prices could be due to the slaves of Allaah oppressing one another and the decrease in prices could be due to some people being good to others. [Majmoo al-Fatawa 8/519]

Glad tidings for the People of Sunnah

The great scholar of the Qur’aan Ibn Katheer -Rahimullaah- said regarding the saying of Allaah Ta’ala:

{يوم ندعو كل أناس بإمامهم}

《(And remember) the Day when We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imam》[al-Israa : 71]

Some of the Salaf said:

‘This is the greatest honour for the People of Hadeeth because their Imam is the Prophet.’ [Tafseer Ibn Katheer 2//78]

Removing Harm

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen -Rahimullaah – said:

‘. . . and removing harm from the path to people’s hearts and righteous deeds, has a greater reward and more urgency than removing harm from pathways where people walk.’ [Riyadh as-Saliheen 2/177]
