What is authentic regarding the date on which the Prophet ﷺ was born?

The great scholar of Hadeeth, shaykh Muhammad Nasiruddeen al-Albaani said:
‘As for the date of birth of the Prophet, then there are different statements of which day and month it was.
Ibn Katheer mentioned all of them originally and all of them without chains of narration, whereby one could research them and weigh them on the scale of the sciences of Hadeeth.
Except for the saying of the one who said his birth was on the eighth of Rabi al-Awwal.
This narration was narrated by Malik and others with an authentic chain from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mut’im. Who was a noble Tabi’aee (a person who met and followed the Companions), so perhaps due to this fact, the historians authenticated this opinion and held it in regard.
The great Al-Hafidh Muhammad bin Musa al-Khawarzami expressed this as his firm opinion, and Abul Khattaab Ibn Dhieeya held it to be the stronger opinion.’

ﻗﺎﻝ العلامة المحدث محمد ناصر الدين ﺍﻷﻟﺒﺎﻧﻲّ رحمه الله :
( ﻭﺃﻣَّﺎ ﺗﺎﺭﻳﺦ ﻳﻮﻡ ﺍﻟﻮﻻﺩﺓ ﻓﻘﺪ ﺫُﻛﺮ ﻓﻴﻪ ﻭﻓﻲ ﺷَﻬْﺮِﻩ ﺃﻗﻮﺍﻝٌ ، ﺫﻛﺮَﻫﺎ ﺍﺑﻦ ﻛﺜﻴﺮ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻷﺻﻞ ﻭﻛﻠُّﻬﺎ ﻣﻌﻠَّﻘﺔ ﺑﺪﻭﻥ ﺃﺳﺎﻧﻴﺪ ﻳﻤﻜﻦ ﺍﻟﻨَّﻈَﺮ ﻓﻴﻬﺎ ﻭﻭﺯﻧُﻬﺎ ﺑﻤﻴﺰﺍﻥ ﻋﻠﻢ ﻣﺼﻄﻠﺢ ﺍﻟﺤﺪﻳﺚ ﺇﻻَّ ﻗﻮﻝ ﻣَﻦ ﻗﺎﻝ ﺇﻧﻪ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﺜﺎﻣﻦ ﻣﻦ ﺭﺑﻴﻊ ﺍﻷﻭﻝ ، ﻓﺈﻧَّﻪ ﺭﻭﺍﻩ ﻣﺎﻟﻚٌ ﻭﻏﻴﺮﻩ ﺑﺎﻟﺴَّﻨﺪ ﺍﻟﺼﺤﻴﺢ ﻋﻦ ﻣﺤﻤﺪ ﺑﻦ ﺟُﺒﻴﺮِ ﺑﻦ ﻣُﻄْﻌِﻢ؛ ﻭﻫﻮ ﺗﺎﺑﻌﻲٌّ ﺟﻠﻴﻞ، ﻭﻟﻌﻠَّﻪ ﻟﺬﻟﻚ ﺻﺤَّﺢ ﻫﺬﺍ ﺍﻟﻘﻮﻝَ ﺃﺻﺤﺎﺏُ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﺭﻳﺦ ﻭﺍﻋﺘﻤﺪﻭﻩ ، ﻭﻗﻄﻊ ﺑﻪ ﺍﻟﺤﺎﻓﻆ ﺍﻟﻜﺒﻴﺮ ﻣﺤﻤﺪُ ﺑﻦ ﻣﻮﺳﻰ ﺍﻟﺨﻮﺍﺭﺯﻣﻲُّ، ﻭﺭﺟَّﺤﻪ ﺃﺑﻮ ﺍﻟﺨﻄﺎﺏ ﺍﺑﻦ ﺩﺣﻴﺔ.ﺍﻫـ.
