Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah said
«فَلَا رَأْيَ أَعْظَمُ ذَماً مِنْ رَأْيٍ أُرِيقَ بِهِ دَمُ أُلُوفٍ مُؤَلَّفَةٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلَمْ يَحْصُلْ بِقَتْلِهِمْ مَصْلَحَةٌ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ لَا فِي دِينِهِمْ وَلَا فِي دُنْيَاهُمْ بَلْ نَقَصَ الْخَيْرُ عَمَّا كَانَ، وَزَادَ الشَّرُّ عَلَى مَا كَانَ.»
‘There is no greater condemned opinion than,
The opinion which causes the spilling of the blood of thousands and thousands of Muslims.
Also by the killing of them no benefit has been achieved for the Muslims not for their religion nor for their worldly matters.
In fact, the good that they were upon decreases and the evil increases from what they were upon.’
