Shaykh AbdulAziz bin Abdullaah Bin Baz (d. 1420 A.H.) -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘O worshipper of Allaah it is upon you to be a good example for your children and to race to that which pleases Allaah;
In being continuous upon goodness, and being upright upon that which pleases Allaah and keeping away from that which Allaah prohibited.

Of being continuous upon the five prayers in congregation.

Protecting the limbs from what Allaah Subhanau wa Ta’ala prohibited.

Also protecting the tongue from speech which is evil and not appropriate, cursing and abusing, gossiping, spreading rumors etc

So by doing this, you will have by Allaah’s permission the like of their reward if they follow you in this goodness.

You have invited them to goodness with your statements, with your deeds and with your path.

By doing this you have given Dawa to the people of your household in statement and action.

However, if the situation is opposite to this, that your statements and actions are not good. If they are on another path opposing the truth,  then it is feared for you that you will have the like of bad deeds of the people of your household, if they follow your path, and follow your way which is not good.

This in reality is great danger and a great trial

It is obligatory upon every Muslim and upon everyone who fears Allaah and has hope in Him to keep away from that.

Also to be upon noble manners and righteous actions so that you can be a good example for the people of your house, for your children, brothers and servants etc.’
