The Khawarij

Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah said:
‘This is why many of the people of Bida’ if given the ability would resemble the disbelievers in making it permissible to kill the believers and make Takfeer of them just as the Khawarij, Rafidah, Mua’tazilah, Jahmeeya and their different branches. However, there are from the Ahl-ul-Bidah those who fight along with the evil sect like the Khawarij and Zaydeeyah. From them are those who search out to kill those who they can, from those who oppose them either by taking control of authority or by trickery. If the Ahl-ul-Bidah are weak then they resemble the hypocrites, using deceitful deception and hypocrisy as is the condition of the hypocrites.’

وَلِهَذَا كَثِيرًا مَا يَكُونُ أَهْلُ الْبِدَعِ مَعَ الْقُدْرَةِ يُشْبِهُونَ الْكُفَّارَ فِي اسْتِحْلَالِ قَتْلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَتَكْفِيرِهِمْ كَمَا يَفْعَلُهُ الْخَوَارِجُ وَالرَّافِضَةُ وَالْمُعْتَزِلَةُ وَالْجَهْمِيَّةُ وَفُرُوعُهُمْ لَكِنَّ فِيهِمْ مَنْ يُقَاتِلُ بِطَائِفَةٍ مُمْتَنِعَةٍ كَالْخَوَارِجِ وَالزَّيْدِيَّةِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَسْعَى فِي قَتْلِ الْمَقْدُورِ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مُخَالِفِيهِ إمَّا بِسُلْطَانِهِ وَإِمَّا بِحِيلَتِهِ وَمَعَ الْعَجْزِ يُشْبِهُونَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يَسْتَعْمِلُونَ التَّقِيَّةَ وَالنِّفَاقَ كَحَالِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ
