‘Few good actions according to the Sunnah are better than a lot of actions of Bida’.’
[al-‘Iatessam by Shatabi 1/112]
B – Shaykh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeya -Rahimullaah- said:
‘Not everyone who beautifies himself with the Sunnah becomes a Sunni however, the difference is when al-Fitn (trials & Tribulations) occur then men become known and the protected one is the one whom Allaah protects.’
[Majmoo fatawa (9/315)]
C – Shaykh Muhammad Nasir-ud-Deen Albaani -Rahimullaah- said:
‘The consideration is not by a lot of worship, but rather it [the worship] being upon the Sunnah, and far away from Bida’.’
[From ‘Silsilah Saheehah’ 5/13-14]
D – Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen -Rahimullaah- said:
‘Worship which is good is more important than a lot of worship.’

E – Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan said:
‘Fear Allah, O worshippers of Allaah, and rectify your actions, Allaah -Jalla wa ulaa- said:
<<Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed.>> [Mulk:2]
Allaah did not say, which of you does the most actions, so the consideration is not with doing a lot of actions, but rather the consideration is with good action, and an action cannot be good except with two conditions:
Sincerity for Allaah -Azza wa Jal, and following the Messenger ﷺ.’

A Prophetic Sunnah
Lengthening the standing after the Ruku & lengthening the sitting between the two Sajdas
From Anas bin Malik -Rahimullaah- who said:
‘Indeed I will not fail to pray with you in the manner in which the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ prayed with us.’
The narrator said:
‘I used to see Anas do something which I do not see you do. When he used to raise his head from Ruku standing straight, so much so that a person could say: he has forgotten. If he raised his head from Sajda he remained sitting so much so that a person could say: he has forgotten.’
[Collected by Muslim]
Al-Imam Ibn al-Qayyim -Rahimullaah- said:
‘Most of the people had left off this Sunnah after the disappearance of the period of the Companions.’
[Zad al-Ma’ad 1/239]
