Protection from Evil of Envy & the Eye

Shaykh Ibn al-Uthaymeen -Rahimahullaah- said:
“The person seeking protection from the evil of Hassad (envy) and from the evil of ‘Ain (evil eye), can do so:
1) with reliance upon Allaah, the Magnificent and Majestic. In doing so, he does not give any attention to these matters, nor does he give them any value or weight and he therefore turns away from them.
2) By using the beneficial Dua and remembrance of Allaah which is found in the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, since it is the best protection for a person as is established from the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa ala Ahlihi wa sallam- regarding Ayaat ul Kursi. He said:
(من قرأها في ليلة لم يزل عليه من الله حافظ ولم يقربه شيطانٌ حتى يصبح) “
“Whoever reads it at night, then he will continue to have a protector from Allaah and Shaytaan cannot come close to him until the morning”

قال الشيخ ابن عثيمين رحمه الله :
” التوقي من شرور الحاسد والعائن فإنه :
أولاً: بالتوكل على الله عز وجل وأن لا يلتفت الإنسان لهذه الأمور ولا يقدرها وليعرض عنها.
ثانياً : باستعمال الأوراد النافعة التي جاء بها الكتاب والسنة ؛ فإنها خير حامٍ للإنسان ، مثل ما ثبت عن النبي صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم في آية الكرسي أن (من قرأها في ليلة لم يزل عليه من الله حافظ ولم يقربه شيطانٌ حتى يصبح) ” انتهى .
