1. Best of actions, the best strength

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘Praise be to Allaah for granting us the best of actions, the best strength and the best of stations.

As for the best of actions then that is the worship of Allaah. As for the best of stations then that is the holy land and all of this is from the blessings of Allaah upon us. So, we ask Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to give us success and our brothers for that which He loves and is pleased with and to make our deeds in conformity to what comes in the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.104]

2. Adhere to the Rope of Allaah

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘It is obligatory upon the people to adhere to the rope of Allaah《And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allaah (i.e. this Qur’an), and be not divided among yourselves》adhering to Allaah is righteousness for the souls and with this one acquires security, tranquillity for the soul and wealth. It is a protected fortress for Islam and being divided with the rope of Allaah is defeat and splitting apart.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.116]

3. We are servants enslaved to Allaah

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘We are servants enslaved to Allaah. We do not have a path and a Madhab other than the upright Deen. Here is the Book of Allaah in front of us and the Sharia of Islaam which we follow. As for the people delving in too deeply then if this is from the angle of the Deen and that they oppose it then the truth is what came in the Book of Allaah. He who hides the truth is cursed and every aspect which opposes the Deen then it is rejected.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.75]

4. Know that the foundation relied upon

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘Know that the foundation relied upon is the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger and that what the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ were upon then the Salaf as-Salih after him, then the Imams of the Muslims: Al-Imam Malik, Al-Imam Shafi’aee, Al-Imam Ahmad and Al-Imam Abu Hanifah.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.303]

5. The way of the Salaf as-Salih

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘I am not a scholar but the truth is clear and the path which we follow is the way of the Salaf as-Salih.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.114]

6. Steps of the Salaf as-Salih

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘Our emblem -and all praise belongs to Allaah- is Tawheed and following the steps of the Salaf as-Salih.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.109]

7. I ask Allaah to have mercy upon us

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘I ask Allaah to have mercy upon us and grant us to follow the way of our righteous Salaf, those who established the scales of justice. So, they are our examples and our guide.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.128]

8. Be upon goodness

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘Indeed, the Muslims will be upon goodness as long as they are upon the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam. They will not attain the delight of the Duniya and Hereafter except with the pure statement of Tawheed.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.55]

9. Crave after Titles

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘I am not from those who are proud with the title ‘King’ nor do I give it any importance. Nor am I from those who crave after titles and chase for them. But rather we are proud of the Islamic religion and we are proud that we are callers of glad tidings to the Tawheed of Allaah. Spreading His religion and the most beloved deed to us is performing deeds in His path.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.62, Malk Rashaad p.363]

10. Types of Tawheed

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘The types of Tawheed:

Tawheed of Allaah’s Lordship

Tawheed of servitude to Allaah

Tawheed of Allaah’s Names & Characteristics

As is established in the books of the scholars which you can refer back to and praise be to Allaah in every time.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.303]

11. Rectification for this Ummah

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘There is no rectification for this Ummah except that which rectified the first of it. Every path other than that has no benefit.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.75]

12. The establishment of the statement of Tawheed

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘I am a person to who there is nothing important to me except the establishment of the statement of Tawheed. To uphold that which is in my hand and the Protector is Allaah Ta’ala.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.53]

13. In Agreement with the Deen

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘We want to proceed forward with our feet firmly established and in the light of the day. If we find that our Aqeedah and hopes are moving forward then it is obligatory that it is in agreement with what our Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam was upon and what the Salaf as-Salih were upon. So that which is in agreement with the Deen then we go along with it and that which opposes it we reject it.’

[Al-Mus’haf wa Sayf’ p.153]

14. War against the Wahhabis

King AbdulAziz Ala Saud -Rahimahullaah- said:

‘The Ottoman Empire warred against us with severe battles. They surrounded us from all sides and they moved great forces against us and surrounded us from every side to exterminate us and hit our core.

They warred against us on the assumption that Wahabeeya is a new Madhab and that Ibn AbdulWahab came with a new Bida.

That it is obligatory to make war against the Wahhabis…. however, Allaah made us victorious over them…. with the strength of Tawheed which is in our hearts, and the Eemaan which is in our chests.

Allaah knows that Tawheed does not just own/possess our bones and bodies but rather it owns our hearts and limbs.

We do not take Tawheed as a tool to accomplish our personal desires and aims or to haul war gains, rather we have adhered to Tawheed due to a deeply rooted Aqeeda and strong Eemaan to make the statement of Allaah the uppermost.’

[Mukhtarat min al-Khutb al-Malakiyya 1/46]
