Salafeeyah is Security & Guidance

Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya

Salafeeyah[1] is the way of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- and the way of his Companions -RadhiAllaahu anhum- in following the Book and the Sunnah[2].

It is not correct to give them derogatory nicknames that they are the Hanabila[3] , or to give them nicknames that they are Taymeeoon[4], or that they are Wahabeeya[5] or to give them nicknames that they are Jameeya[6] or to give them nicknames that they are the Mudakhilaa[7].

They have no name which can be attached to them except the Sunnah, because they do not ascribe themselves to anyone except the Sunnah and they are not biased to anyone except to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.

When the people will be called to be with whom they were biased to on the Day of Judgement, the people of Sunnah do not accept that they will be called except that they are attached to the Noble Prophet – may the praises of Allaah and His security be upon him.

The Salafeeyoon have been ascribed to al-Wahhab (The Bestower). Shaykh Taqi uddeen al-Hilali[8] -Rahimullaah- said:

‘The best of Allaah’s worshippers, would it not be wonderful to be ascribed to al-Wahhab (The Bestower) there is a nobility by this name, which is from the Salafi Sect which followed the methodology of the Sunnah and the Book and criticised innovations and every newly matter invented in the religion is criticised by those who possess knowledge.’

If this is our shame, that we dislike innovations and criticize them, then we welcome this shame.

So, Salafeeyah is the way of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- and the way of his Companions -may Allah Ta’ala be pleased with all of them together- and the way of our righteous Salaf from the Taba’een (those who followed the Companions).

Also their followers like Malik[9] we love him, regard him as great and we follow him, likewise Sha’afiee[10] we love him, regard him as great and we follow him, and Ahmad we love him, regard him as great and we follow him, and likewise Abu Hanifa[11], the two Sufyaans[12] and the two Hamads[13], az-Zhuri[14], Umar bin AbdulAziz[15], AbdurRahman bin Mahdi[16], Yahya bin Sa’eed[17], Yahya Ibn Ma’een[18], Ahmad bin Hanbal[19], al-Bukhari[20], Muslim[21], an-Nisaee, Abu Dawood[22], Tirmidhi[23] Ibn Majah[24] the Imams of the Sunnah and Hadeeth at all times and in all regions, we love them, they are our Salaf as-Salih we are not biased to any single one from them leaving the others. We revolve with the Sunnah where ever it goes[25], this is Salafeeyah, this is Salafeeyah in reality, this is Salafeeyah security and guidance[26].’

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وبَحَمْدكَ أشْهدُ أنْ لا إلهَ إلا أنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وأتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

All Praise belongs to Allaah, may His peace and blessings be upon our final Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions and all those who follow his guidance.
