Understanding the meaning of the Qur’aan
فهم معاني القرآن
Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah -Rahimahullaah- said:
“المطلوب فهم معاني القرآن والعمل به، فإن لم تكن هذه همة حافظه لم يكن من أهل العلم والدين”
‘What is required is understanding the meanings of the Qur’aan and acting upon it, if the one who memorised it does not have a concern for understanding the meanings of the Qur’aan then he is not from the people of knowledge and Deen.’
