The Character of Seeking Forgiveness

Allaah Ta’ala says:
《وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَ 》
《 “And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah).” 》[Hood:52]
Al-Hafidh Ibn Katheer -Rahimahullaah- said:
” من اتصف بصفة الاستغفار يسر الله عليه رزقه
وسهــل عليـه أمـره وحفظ عليه شأنه وقوته” .
‘Whosoever is characterised with seeking forgiveness, then Allaah makes his provision easy for him, makes his matters easy for him and Allaah also protects his matters and provisions.’

قال ابن كثير رحمه الله :
” من اتصف بصفة الاستغفار
يسر الله عليه رزقه
وسهــل عليـه أمـره
وحفظ عليه شأنه وقوته” .
