Some of the Ways of an Increase in wealth

Part 1 – Reliance and Trust upon Allaah
Allaah Ta’ala said:
《وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا * وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدْرًا.》
《 And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allaah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allaah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allaah has set a measure for all things.》 [Talaq: 2-3]
From Umar bin al-Khattab RadiAllaahu anhu who said that I heard the Prophet of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam saying:
لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَوَكَّلْتُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ ؛ تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا ، وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا
‘If you relied upon Allaah with true reliance then indeed Allaah would grant you provisions as he provides for a bird. It goes out in the early morning hungry and returns full.’
[Collected by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, al-Hakim and Albaani said: ‘It is authentic upon the conditions of Muslim’ in Saheehah no. 310]
تَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ
قال الله تعالي :《وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا * وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدْرًا.》
فعن عمر رضى الله عنه ، قال : سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول :
” لو أنكم توكلتم على الله حق توكله لرزقكم كما يرزق الطير ، تغدو خماصا وتروح بطانا “
أخرجه أحمد و الترمذي و قال الترمذي : “ حديث حسن صحيح “ . و قال الحاكم : “ صحيح الإسناد و قال الألباني : بل هو صحيح على شرط مسلم. السلسلة الصحيحة رقم : 310
Part 2 – Keeping Good Relationships with relatives
Allaah says:
(إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ)
《 Verily, Allaah enjoins Al-Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allah Alone ) and Al-Ihsan [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah, in a perfect manner], *and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help, etc.)*: and forbids all evil deeds, and Al-Munkar (i.e. every kind of evil deed), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression), He admonishes you, that you may take heed.》 [Soorah An-Nahl 90]
From Abu Bakra that the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
” إِنَّ أَعْجَلَ الطَّاعَةِ ثَوَابًا صِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ ، حَتَّى إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ لِيَكُونُوا فَجَرَةً ، فَتَنْمُو أَمْوَالُهُمْ ، وَيَكْثُرُ عَدَدُهُمْ إِذَا تَوَاصَلُوا ، وَمَا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَتَوَاصَلَونَ فَيَحْتَاجُونَ ” .
‘Indeed the most hasty of reward for an act of obedience to Allaah is having good relations with relatives. Even if the people of a Muslim household are disobedient, their wealth increases, their numbers increase if they keep good relations. There are no people of a household who keep good relations except that they will not be needy.’

From Ibn Shihab who said that Anas bin Malik informed him that the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
” مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُبْسَطَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ، وَيُنْسَأَ لَهُ فِي أَثَرِهِ ، فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ “.
‘Whoever would like that his provisions are increased many-fold and that he has a long blessed life then he should keep good relations with his relatives.’

صلة الرحم
قال الله تعالي : (إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ)
عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : ” إِنَّ أَعْجَلَ الطَّاعَةِ ثَوَابًا صِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ ، حَتَّى إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ لِيَكُونُوا فَجَرَةً ، فَتَنْمُو أَمْوَالُهُمْ ، وَيَكْثُرُ عَدَدُهُمْ إِذَا تَوَاصَلُوا ، وَمَا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَتَوَاصَلَونَ فَيَحْتَاجُونَ
حسّن الحديثَ لغيره العلامةُ الألباني في “التعليقات الحسان” برقم(441).
عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : ” مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُبْسَطَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ، وَيُنْسَأَ لَهُ فِي أَثَرِهِ ، فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ “.
صحيح البخاري | كِتَابٌ : الْأَدَبُ | بَابُ مَنْ بُسِطَ لَهُ فِي الرِّزْقِ بِصِلَةِ الرَّحِمِ.
Part 3 – Seeking forgiveness and Gratitude Forgiveness
The saying of Allaah the Most-High:
فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّاراً* يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاء عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَاراً * وَيُمْدِدْكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْهَارًا
《”I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; ‘He will send rain to you in abundance; ‘And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”》[Soorah Nuh: 10 -12]
Allaah Subhanahu Ta’ala said:
وَأَنِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُمْ مَتَاعاً حَسَناً إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمّىً
<<And (commanding you): “Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed》 [Hud : 3]
Allaah Subhanahu Ta’ala said:
وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِدْرَاراً وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَى قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَ
《”And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as Mujrimoon (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah).”》 [Hud: 52]
Gratitude
Allaah Ta’ala said:
(وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ)
《And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allaah), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe.”》[Soorah Ibrahim: 7]
Allaah Ta’ala said:
(وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَىٰ)
《”But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur’aan nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.”》
[Soorah Ta-Ha 124]
Allaah Subhanahu Ta’ala said:
(وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَىٰ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَرَكَاتٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِنْ كَذَّبُوا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ)
《And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (Shirk and sins, etc.). 》 [Soorah Al-A’raf 96]
Part 4 – Giving a lot of Charity
Allaah said:
قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ وَمَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
《Say: “Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allaah’s Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers.”》[Soorah Saba 39]
From Abu Kabshah al-Anmaari – radiAllaahu anhu- who said that he heard from the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam saying :
…….ما نقص مالٌ من صدقة.
‘Wealth does not decrease due to giving charity.’

From Abu Hurairah who said that the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“قال الله تعالى أنفق أنفق عليك”
‘Allaah Ta’ala said spend and you will be spent upon.’
[Collected by Bukhari and Muslim]
* كثرة الصدقة*
قال الله تعالى: قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ وَمَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ { سبأ: 39 }.
وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم: ما نقص مالٌ من صدقة.
رواه الترمذي
وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم “قال الله تعالى أنفق أنفق عليك”رواه البخاري و مسلم
Part 5 – Following up with Performing Hajj and Umrah
From Abdullaah bin Mas’ood RadhiAllaahu anhu who said that the Messenger of Allaah sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
تابعوا بين الحج والعمرة فإنهما ينفيان الفقر والذنوب كما ينفي الكير خبث الحديد والذهب والفضة وليس للحجة المبرورة ثواب إلا الجنة
‘Be regular with (in another narration: follow up) the Hajj and the Umrah since they wipe out poverty and sins, just as the furnace separates the slag from the iron, gold and silver. There is no reward for the complete Hajj except Paradise.’
[Collected by Tirmidhi, Ibn Khuzaimah, Ibn Hibban and Tirmidhi said it was Hasan Saheeh. Albaani graded it Hasan in Saheeh Targheeb no. 1105 and also in Silsilah Saheehah no. 1200]
Part 6 – Making Dua
From Umm Salamah RadhiAllaahu anha that the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam used to say in the morning:
اللهم إني أسألك علما نافعا ورزقا طيبا وعملا متقبلا.
‘O Allaah indeed I ask of You for beneficial knowledge, good provision and accepted deeds.’
[Collected by Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Al-Bayhaqi and hafidh Ibn Hajr graded it Hasan whilst Albaani graded it Saheeh in Saheeh Sunnan Ibn Majah]
From Abu Hurairah that the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam used to say:
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من القلة و الفقر و الذلة ،
و أعوذ بك أن أظلم أو أظلم
‘O Allaah indeed I seek refuge with You from having very little, poverty, humiliation and I seek refuge with You that I oppress or be oppressed.’
[Collected by Nisa’ee, Ibn Majah, Ibn Hibban, al-Hakim and Ahmad and graded Saheeh by Albaani in Silsilah Saheeh no. 1445]
*الدعاء للرزق*
عن أم سلمة رضي الله عنها: أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا أصبح قال: اللهم إني أسألك علما نافعا ورزقا طيبا وعملا متقبلا. حسنه الحافظ في نتائج الأفكار .
عن أبي هريرة قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
” تعوذوا بالله من الفقر و القلة و الذلة و أن تظلم أو تظلم ” .
أخرجه النسائي و ابن ماجة و ابن حبان و الحاكم و أحمد و الألباني في السلسلة الصحيحة 1445
