Opposing the Saying of the Prophet

Imam Shafi’aee -Rahimullaah- said:
‘If you find that my statement opposes the statement of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – then throw my statement to a wall. . .’

Our Shaykh, Shaykh Rabia bin Hadi Al-Madkhalee -Hafidhu Allaah- commented on this saying:
‘So what about the statements of the people of Bida’?! Now you find the people welcoming the statements of the people of Bida’. . . . Celebrating the Prophet’s birthday, weird superstitions, grave worship, building shrines on graves, different types of Shirk, the Bida’ of politics and democracy, misguidance and deviance in beliefs, Manhaj and politics, unification of religions, equality of religions, brotherhood of religions . . . . Causing the youth to be lost, and many from them follow anyone and everyone.
They elevate the person of Bida’ and enlarge, magnify and regard him as great and Shaytaan beautifies this person for the youth.’
