Following the Prophet for greater Tawheed

Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah -Rahimahullaah- said:
‘The more a person follows Muhammad ﷺ, the greater his Tawheed of Allaah will be, and likewise his sincerity in [worshipping Him alone] in the religion.
When he distances himself from following the Messenger then his holding onto the religion becomes deficient in accordance with that.
When the distance away from following the Prophet is great, then Shirk and Bida appear in him, that which does not appear in the one who is closer in following the Messenger ﷺ.

قال شيخ الاسلام ابن تيمية -رحمه الله-:
“وكلما كان الرجل أتبع لمحمد ﷺ كان أعظم توحيدًا لله وإخلاصًا له في الدين
▪️وإذا بعد عن متابعته نقص من دينه بحسب ذلك
▪️فإذا كثر بعده عنه ظهر فيه من الشرك والبدع ما لا يظهر فيمن هو أقرب منه إلى اتباع الرسولﷺ “
