Does knowledge need guarding?

Shaykh Muhammad bin Uthaymeen -Rahimahullaah- said:
‘If Allaah provides you with knowledge, the place in which it is carried is the heart:
■ It does not require safe vaults.
■ nor keys.
■ nor anything else.
While it is in the heart it is protected, in the soul it is protected and at the same time knowledge protects the soul. This is because knowledge protects you from danger by the permission of Allaah Azza wa Jal, therefore, knowledge guards you.
However, as regards wealth them you guard it:
■ you place it in a safe vault behind locks. And along with that you are not rest assured regarding it.’

هل العلم يحتاج إلى الحراسة ؟
▪قال العلاّمة ابن عثيمين :
إذا رزقك الله علما فحمله في القلب :
■ لا يحتاج إلى صناديق .
■ أو مفاتيح .
■ أو غيرها .
☜ هو في القلب محروس ، وفي النفس محروس وفي الوقت نفسه هو المحروس .
لأنه يحميك من الخطر بإذن الله – عز وجل – فالعلم يحرسك .
ولكن المال أنت تحرسه :
■ تجعله في صناديق وراء اﻷغلاق .
☜ ومع ذلك تكن غير مطمئن عليه .
