Desiring Wealth and Status

Shaykh Muqbil bin Hadi al-Wada’aee (d. 1422 A.H.) -Rahimuhullaah- said:
‘Our Dawa and Aqeedah is more beloved to us than our ownselves, our wealth and our children.
We are not prepared to sell it for gold and paper money.
We say this so a greedy person does not have a greed or desire for the Dawa, and assume that he can cause us to be inclined with the Dirham and Dinar.
Those who are into politics know that about us. So, because of this they have despair from making us greedy or desiring status or wealth.’

Shaykh Rabee al Madkhali -HafidhuAllaah- said:
وكم من الأفراد والجماعات أسقطهم الطمع فانحرفت عن الحق ومنهج السلف حين سال لعابها على متاع الدنيا الحقير .
‘How many individuals and organisations have fallen due to greed. They have deviated from the truth and Manhaj as-Salaf when their saliva would drip for the enjoyments of the wretched worldly life.’

قال العلامة مقبل الوادعي رحمه الله:
دعوتنا وعقيدتنا أحب إلينا من أنفسنا وأموالنا وأبنائنا.
فلسنا مستعدين أن نبيعها بالذهب والورق نقول هذا حتى لا يطمع في الدعوة طامع ويظن أنه يستطيع أن يستميلنا بالدرهم والدينار على أن ذوي السياسة يعلمون عنا هذا، من أجل هذا فهم آيسون من أن يطمعونا بمناصب أو بمال.

▪قال العلامة ربيع بن هادي حفظه الله تعالى:
