Basis of Calling to Unity

Shaykh Ubayd al-Jabri said:
‘Ahl ul Sunnah do not unrestrictedly call to unity, friendliness and suppressing differences, but rather it is restricted that it has to be upon the Book (the Qur’aan), the Sunnah and the understanding of the Salaf as-Salih.
The Dawa of Ahl ul Sunnah wal Jammah is established by three matters:
First: the text from the Book
Secondly: the texts of the Sunnah
Third: the Seerah of the Salaf as-Salih.
As for the Ahl ul Bida and innovation then what they want when they call to unity and suppress differences is not to criticise the evil against the person who brought that evil, so not to refute the Bida of a person.
This is opposite to the evidences of the Book, the Sunnah and the actions of the Salaf as-Salih.’

*▪️قال فضيلة الشيخ العلامة عبيد الجابري حفظه الله:*
*فأهل السنة لا يدعون إلى اﻹجتماع والائتلاف ونبذ الخلاف دعوة مطلقة أبدا،وإنما هو مقيد بأن يكون على الكتاب والسنة،وعلى فهم السلف الصالح.*
*ثلاثة أمور تقوم عليها دعوة أهل السنة والجماعة:*
*أحداها* *:النص من الكتاب.*
*والثاني:* *نصوص السنة.*
*والثالث:* *سيرة السلف الصالح.*
*وأما أهل البدع والمحدثات؛فإنهم يريدون حين يدعون إلى اﻹجتماع ونبذ الخلاف أن لا ينكر منكر على من أتى به،فلا ترد بدعة على صاحبها، وهذا خلاف دلالة الكتاب والسنة وعمل السلف الصالح.*
