How to Deal with Negative Changes

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah (d. 728 A.H.) Rahimahullaah said:

‘When many people see evil, or when there are many changes in the circumstances of Islaam, a person  becomes restless and anxious, weak and feeble, and begins wailing and lamenting; like the people who are afflicted with loss wail and weep, and this is prohibited.

In fact, he is commanded with having patience, having reliance upon Allaah, being steadfast upon the Deen of Islaam.

Also to believe that Allaah is with those who fear Him and those who are good-doers, and the good end (i.e. Paradise) is for those who fear Allaah. Along with that, what afflicts him is due to his sins, so he should be patient; and know that Allaah’s promise is true.

He should seek forgiveness for his sins, glorify and praise his Lord in the morning and evening.’
